TATTINGSTONE CRICKET CLUB
1984 ONWARDS
Nick Locke takes over the captaincy, following a 17 year spell by Mel. Neil Elford returns to the club after a few seasons at Browns.
Dick Brewster scores 1,118 runs, a thousand two years running,
and Nick Rush tops the bowling in another fine season.
1986 : Richard Brewster moves to Achilles to play Two Counties
League cricket. Neil Elford gets back to form with 908
runs,topping the batting. Mark Godbold joins us from
Ransomes and brings father Brian later on. Runners Up
in Lancaster Div. 2 which means promotion to Div. 1.
1985 : Extra league cricket is obtained by joining Lancaster
Garages League Div. 3, as well as Alliance Section A.
Adrian Stockton joins just to play in L.G. and Clive Jenno
joins from Brantham.Infamous fifth club tour of Grantham
area which featured " the water incident" and included
Suffolk cricket star Phil Caley.
Dick Brewster, pictured above , in 2001, joined us when Sutton
folded and scored over 4,000 runs, before moving to Achilles to play in the Two Counties League. He later moved to York and
helped to arrange two club tours in that area.
1987 : Neil Elford takes over the captaincy . Dave Bland returns
after spells with Brantham and Stowmarket and scores
another 1,072 runs. Graham Denny moves away to live
in Grimsby. Debut of Matthew Atkins. Outfield changed
as trees uprooted in storm.
1988 : Best ever position in Suffolk Alliance Section A,Runners Up.
Gavin Bland scores 631 runs and we are joined by Richard
Banyard from Ransomes,who gives out attack more bite.
1989 : Jeremy Atkinson arrives from York, thanks to Dick . He
scores 903 runs at 47.2 in half a season, but proves to be
hard to handle on the field. Neil scores 1,294 runs and
Nigel Peartree returns to make another 560. Richard
Banyard is top wicket taker with 65.
1990 : Another landmark year. First team enter Two Counties
Div. 3, whilst retaining Lancaster status. Second team
started for the first time and joins Suffolk Alliance Sec. E.
Neil scores 1,054 runs and Peartree brothers do well with
bat and ball. Nick Locke returns to club to manage the
seconds and dominates in all areas. Nigel Parmenter also
returns to the club after once playing as a junior.

1991 : Second year in the Two Counties Div 3 with a similar return ( 5th
of 8 ). Runners Up in the Lancaster Garages League however. Dave
Bland tops the batting with Mark Godbold being the leading bowler.
Second team moves to the Lancaster Garages League from Tolly
League in search of better pitches. The moved proved to be worth
while.
