1992 ONWARDS
Neil Elford scores 1,362 runs to lead the pack. Andy Dawes, makes good progress with 813. Wickets spread around. Second
team win Lancaster Div. 5 championship. Mel Phair plays mostly for seconds and top batting with 721 runs. Newcomers, Chris and Steve Bell make an immediate impact, with both bat and ball
to give the second team a boost.
1993 : Graham Denny scores 1,021 runs with Neil and Nigel,
both scoring around 900. Neil Schofield is star signing from
Browns and tops the bowling with 55 wickets. Mark
Godbold is top wicket taker with 76. Chris Bell scores 557
runs for the second team, whilst Dave Tumilty takes 36
wickets.
1994 : Chris Bell moves up into first team and scores 820 runs.
Nigel Peartree scores 1,075. Neil Schofield and Richard
Banyard take 44 and 41 wickets respectively. New boy,
Ajit Achar scores 681 for second team at 52.3. John
Bartrum and Mel Phair ,both score over 500. Nigel Wallis
is another addition to the second team that makes a
differance.
Adrian Stockton (above), who after playing for several years in the Lancaster, decided to play for Tattingstone, on a full-time basis in 1995, which considerably improved our
top order batting.
1995 : Adrian Stockton play in both leagues and scores 1,719
runs, helping to take the team to Runners-Up spot in Two
Counties Div. 3. Chris Bell also scores 1,277. Neil
Schofield is top bowler, pushed hard by Steve Bell. Solid
year for seconds, with new signing Ajit Achar scoring 632.
Peter Weir also hits 612 runs and Nigel Wallis is the top
wicket taker with 31.
1996 : Adrian Stockton takes over captaincy in both leagues as
Neil Elford decides to have a break. Champions of
Lancaster Garges Div. 1 with decent 5th place in Div. 2
of Two Counties. Adrian sets a club record with 2,522
runs at 93.4. Chris Bell also makes 1,328 in a season
dominated by the batsmen. Ajit and Mel both scored
heavily for seond team, with new signing , Karl Pearce
also contributing well. Debuts for John Bell, the youngest
of the famous Bell family, plus Dan Shanks and Chris
Chittock.
1997 : First team claim L.G Runners-Up spot. Adrian and Chris
dominate batting with 1,704 and 1,298 runs respectively.
Newcomer Alan Forster fits in well and scores 817 runs.
In addition Chris Bell takes 70 wickets, his best ever.
Second team hold their own and welcome the return to
the club of Gordan Funnell. Tattingstone boy, Gordon,
played for the club in his youth, but then moved away
to play for Elmsett.
